As we headed out on Saturday June 28th, 2009 to the DC’s Safeway National Capitol BBQ Festival I had no idea it was such a big festival with lots of music and great food. It was a hot summer day for a perfect BBQ Festival, they had lots of different Vendors from all over the Country, just in time to give some ideas for my July 4th creations!.
There was also a competition going on and loved seeing all the different competitors and their smokers and unique BBQ equipment and of course their names & catch phrases – Congrats to CHIX,SWINE & BOVINE from Jessup , MD as the Grand Prize Winner –) here are the other winners of the 2009 BBQ Contests http://www.bbqdc.com/contest2009.htm
It was also very family friendly with NBA Slam Dunk contest and 3 point contests for kids and adults, plenty of climbs, Sunny D and lots of food.
Food – everything was so yummy! The long lines were worth it.
